Jane Van Auken

Jane is vice president of store planning and design for Green Bay, Wisc.–based Shopko, a position she has held since 2000. At Shopko she is responsible for the planning, design, and visual merchandising for all Shopko stores including new Shopko and Shopko Express stores, remodels, and merchant initiative programs.

Prior to joining Shopko, Van Auken held several positions at Target Corp. from 1986–2000. She served as Director, Store Planning and Design for the Department Store Division; Manager of Design, Visual Merchandising and Design; and as Project Manager of Major Projects. Van Auken also worked at Trauth Associates Ltd. where she was a project manager and then director of design and at Hartmarx Corp. as a staff designer.

Van Auken received her degree of technology in Interior Design from the Harrington Institute of Interior Design, Chicago, IL. and has a liberal arts education from Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill.

Van Auken is a past NADI award winner, a 40 under 40 DDI Magazine award recipient, has had multiple projects published in VM&SD and is listed in the Manchester Who’s Who.
